St. Clement's Catholic Church
St Clement’s Catholic Church of Haymarsh, was built in 1937 on a rock formation that had remained after the loss of two previous church buildings. The town of Haymarsh did not survive, but the history of St Clement’s states that “St Clement’s Church still stands as a fortress on the North Dakota Prairie as a tribute to a rural community who believed in a hard work ethic, who reached out to others in need, and who had a deep faith in their purpose in life.” St Clement’s accomplished an exterior restoration including scraping, priming, and painting the building, and re-glazing windows where needed. THey replaced the railing on the steps, and the side doors of the building, which included minor foundations repairs and landscaping. The church is used for masses on special occasions, and an annual Corpus Christi Mass with Eucharistic Procession is held each year in June. Recently the congregation began holding monthly mass again, to utilize the restored church building.
