Fargo-Moorhead Heritage Society
The Fargo-Moorhead Heritage Scoiety is a non- profit organization incorporated in 1975 with membership open to anyone interested in promoting preservation of buildings, sites and districts of historical, cultural and/or architectural significance in the area.
Understanding preservation is an important step in saving our heritage for genereations to come.
Recognizing preservation efforts in our community that enhance the historic fabric and architectural heritage that surrounds us.
Publicizing preservation to increase public awareness and enjoyment of the architectural treasures in the community that play a role in telling Fargo-Moorheads' story.
Actively advocating preservation of endangered or vulnerable properties.
The Fargo-Moorhead Heritage Scoiety has approximately 100 members and a 12 member board, the society publishes a newsletter that is a benefit of membership.
Annual events include awards presentations for preservation efforts within the community. These awards are presented during National Historic Preservation Month in May.
Another event is the spring outing, it brings society members the opportunity to travel to other communities to expand the boundaries of preservation awareness and education.
Numerous other projects such as photo dispays, lectures, and walking tours are ongoing efforts by the society to promote and expand the appreciation of our historic inheritance.
